From “Hosannah” to “Crucify Him”

The season of Lent closes with Holy Week.
We follow His journey of His triumphant entry into Jerusalem to the loneliness of Calvary.  This journey of pain and isolation is Jesus return to the Father.  Palm or
Passion Sunday is our anticipation of Good Friday, our identification with the Cross that led to the Glory of the Resurrection.

In embracing the Cross on Good Friday we bring the various expressions of our own brokenness whether that is illness, bereavement, rejection or fear to the brokenness of our Crucified Lord.

Some time ago when visiting a friend who was very ill in hospital who suddenly turned to a crucifix hanging  in the ward saying, “There is my hope”.  United with Jesus in his suffering on the cross, may we share his resurrection and new life.
