God’s own Building Boom
Behind the headlines lies the age old hankering of the heart to find a home. When a house becomes a home it is because so much of the heart has been invested there: memories, traditions, all the stuff of belonging. The deaths of parents, or of the brother or sister who stayed at home cause us to grieve people who are precious and the place that was our homeplace. The Lord Himself longs to find and make His homeplace in the hearth that is the human heart. These First Communion Days are brightened with the joy of God at home in the hearts of children happy to receive Him. And while we have here no lasting city, our hearts too may find peace in becoming places where God dwells, “lit by the radiant glory of God”, established in that “peace the world cannot give.” Fr.
