Phibsboro Aid
Phibsboro Aid is one of the older
outreaches by the people of St. Peter's to respond
to those in need in the area.Phibsboro Aid, the brainchild of Sr. Anne Donnelly, D.C. was founded in May
1972
to provide comfortable sheltered accommodation for Senior Citizens.
Founder members include Rev. Thomas Fagan, CM, members of St. Peter's Luncheon Club, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Ladies of Charity and Phibsboro Ladies Club.
It is a wholly voluntary organisation - a charity, registered as a Friendly
Society with
Statutory accountability.
Thanks to the generous support of the people and traders of Phibsboro and
outside,
the encouragement and support of the Vincentian Community and the dedicated,
unstinting, trojan work of the Committee, the organisation realised its aims and
its houses
now provide comfortable homes for a number of Senior Citizens.
Anyone interested in joining as a volunteer or enquiring about accommodation,
can
contact a committee member via the Parish Office at St. Peter's Church,
Phibsboro Dublin 7. Tel. 353-1-8389708
